<div class="bodytext">Hi! This girl&#8217;s name is Nike. She is currently an architecture student in U.P. Diliman, <span style="font-style: italic"> </span>a craft-and-hobbies enthusiast, a part-time <span style="font-style: italic">beader/crocheter,</span> an occasional bead collector, and an aspiring jewelry designer. The name <span style="font-style: italic">Nikita </span>is a derivative of her name, also a monicker she acquired in high school. She got little cyber craft nook and online shop both in multiply and here at ginantsilyo.</div>

<h2><strong><span style="color: #993300">She got </span><span style="font-style: italic"><span style="color: #993300">hooked</span></span><span style="color: #993300">!</span></strong></h2>
<p>She started as a regular <span style="font-style: italic">beader</span>&#8211; working only with run-of-the-mill beads, charms and jewelry findings you usually find at local craft stores, especially the ones along <span style="font-style: italic">Villalobos. </span>Not long after she started beading did she also start becoming bored with the same and usual materials she uses, as well as with the creations she was able to come up with using them. Remembering how her mom made use of crocheted flower appliques as embellishments, she was inspired to incorporate crocheting into my craft. Soon enough she discovered crochet&#8217;s potential in jewelry-making. Since then, she has been using crocheted motifs and components together with my beads and charms to come up with exceptional pieces.</p>

<p>Crocheting is more than just her hobby – it is a therapy, stress relief, and a creative outlet for her. Nothing is better at melting away the day’s stresses than a soft ball of yarn with my favorite crochet hook… That’s why she  sooo heart it!</p>

<p style="padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 18px;padding-left: 0px;margin: 0px">It was fun and it was (I then thought) easy so I asked her to teach me more. And so I learned other basic stitches but I cannot make something pretty and usable… Almost all my first works were circular since I cannot make uniform stitches.</p>
<p style="padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 18px;padding-left: 0px;margin: 0px">Our neighbor taught me how to make the granny square. It was then I thought that I could make my own patterns and motifs then attach them with another…</p>

<p style="padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 18px;padding-left: 0px;margin: 0px">My transition from beading to crocheting happened when I came across monaco crochet threads sold at our Cooperative store <img src='http://ginantsilyo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  during my first (and last) semester at graduate school.</p>
<p style="padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 18px;padding-left: 0px;margin: 0px">This hobby is quite handy. I do not need to bring much with me. Just a ball of yarn and a hook and I can do it anywhere.  That&#8217;s why i got hooked <img src='http://ginantsilyo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
