Bejeweled Dog Collar Bangle

This is my second proper attempt on felting wool. Remember the bracelet I have felted before? I did the same thing on this one but repeated the whole procedure a number of times until I can barely distinguish the individual stitches. I am quite satisfied with the effect J The photos may not be too good to see the effect of felting. I think I am closer to creating a similar felted bangle on my felted wishlist :D Wish me luck!

I am going to wear this to office tomorrow :) I like the jeweled bling bling around it. Looks like a dog collar to me :)

When looked closely – individual crochet stitches were barely distinguishable:

Felting Wool – ahh the glory of it.

This was one of the reasons why i’ve been wanting to have wool yarns. I want to try felting and hehe. it was not easy  as i thought. The yarn did not felt the way i wanted it because my (lack of) patience took over.

I cannot share yet the experience since i am more excited about the result. I will share next time the steps I had taken but i want to share this wrist wrap i was able to make:

Materials:

Materials Used for making crocheted wrist band

Materials Used for making crocheted wrist band

  • 8 metal links
  • 1 wire with loop at end
  • buttons
  • Chrochet Thread (texture is like the DMC Thread used for cross stitch).
  • 2 metal bars
  • 1.6 mm crochet hook
  • needle (big)

I bought the metal links, bars, and wires at Quiapo. The metal bars costs around 20Php/pack (contains 10), the links and wires are around the same price.

The buttons I used came from stashed buttons given to me by a local wholesale store of threads and other tailoring needs. (I’ll post a blog later)

The purpose of this is the button will serve as the lock of the band.

The yarn’s frm Rosario Pasig. It was given to me free by the manong. Because I bought two kilos of yarns from him.

All in all, the materials came cheap. It took me less than 30 minutes to create this accessory.
