So most of you probably know that I have two kids and I do not feel so comfortable flaunting my tummy to the public anymore, so to compensate because I still love showing some skin during summer, I have to look for one piece swimsuits. Sadly, I only like a few designs, so this time around, I decided to make my own one piece swimsuit
Of course, everything starts with a ‘design’ first:
I made a very quick skecth on what my swimsuit would look like. Then I choose my colors and then decided to start the project swiftly.
After sometime, I decided to make the design a bit clearer, and make the upper body into a lacy mesh still with the same aesthetics, zigzag, lines etc.
The bikini top should be more nude tone but I do not have the right hue, so I just used this pale light brown one that I have.
It is always exciting to finish a project, right?
And tada! photos taken during our anniversary in palawan
I guess all our first attempts are awkward. I think crochet is the worst material possible for swimwear because its characteristics are everything lycra and spandex are not yet because of its classic beauty and intricate, elegant details, we still try to translate it into this form of clothing.
I think your fit needs a LOT of work. Also, you lack an understanding of and need to research more on techniques that will actually make swimwear fit. I see from your blog that you sell some of your work. If you plan to sell swimwear, lots and lots of homework still needs to be done. If not and you plan to just make it for yourself to wear to relatively isolated beaches and don’t mind it sagging when it gets wet and bikini bottoms flapping open – I guess that’s fine too – as long as you’re okay with that
True!
Crochet is awkward for swimwears 😀
But! 😀 still
Woot-woo!!!! Wish I could do something like that, too!!!
Bago na pala ang look ng blog mo, ah. Cool
